Services : Inspection & Testing
Legal RequirementsThe law requires that all business owners, their directors, managers, employees and landlords comply with "The Electricity at Work Regulations".
No system or part of it may give rise to danger during either normal operation or under fault conditions.
Regulation 4(2)
"All systems to be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, danger". "System" means the wiring of an electrical installation and everything connected to it.
Regulation (29) states:
"It shall be a defence for any person to prove that he took all reasonable steps and exercised all due diligence to avoid the commission of that offence".
The way in which to abide by these legal requirements is for the owner of the installation to get in touch with Electrasafe and set up a scheme whereby we carry an inspection and test of the system to determine the current state and safety of it. Upon completion we issue the client with a NICEIC Periodic inspection report detailing the current state of the installation, either "satisfactory or unsatisfactory" and details of any remedial works that need to be undertaken to bring the system up to requirements. We also inform the client of when the system needs to be tested next, as this can not be fully determined until the condition has been assessed by one of our inspectors.
